Occupy Movement

December 15, 2011 – 5:10 pm

If you haven’t been totally asleep for the last several months, then you know that there have been occupy encampments and protests in hundreds of cities and countries around the world, and it ain’t over yet. I’ve been to a few encampments and a couple of demonstrations and here’re some photos that I took at Occupy San Francisco and Oakland.

In addition to the showcase photos below, I’ve posted a couple of hundred photos from San Francisco, Oakland, and also, Occupy Cal, on my Flickr page.

Folsom Street Fair

November 13, 2011 – 10:22 pm

The Folsom Street Fair is a uniquely San Francisco event. The official Fair website had this to say, “In spite of gray skies and sprinkles of rain in the morning, gregarious throngs of fair goers materialized on schedule. Dressed in leather harneses, or with roman chariots, in latex and rubber, with the skimpiest of outfits, or nothing at all we came together. And our efforts were rewarded by amazing afternoon Sun that broke through the haze and provided the warmest of lighting right up until the end of fair.”

In addition to the showcase photos below, I’ve posted about 80 pictures on my Flickr page.

Project Bandaloop

September 16, 2011 – 11:30 pm

Barbara and I went to a performance of Project Bandaloop this evening. Like Cirque du Soleil, you gotta see it to believe it. It was spectabulous, and it was free –(I think I read that their performances are always free. They performed outside on a wall on Grand Ave, in Oakland, right off of Telegraph — The Great Wall of Oakland.
