Occupy Movement
December 15, 2011 – 5:10 pmIf you haven’t been totally asleep for the last several months, then you know that there have been occupy encampments and protests in hundreds of cities and countries around the world, and it ain’t over yet. I’ve been to a few encampments and a couple of demonstrations and here’re some photos that I took at Occupy San Francisco and Oakland.
In addition to the showcase photos below, I’ve posted a couple of hundred photos from San Francisco, Oakland, and also, Occupy Cal, on my Flickr page.

Fletcher, These are wonderful. They really show the close up faces of the real people involved in a way you never see from the tv news helicopters hovering over the streets. It brings the humanity to the movement. Thanks, Dave

Wow! These are some of the best photos I’ve seen you take.
Maybe it’s because their relevance feels so immediate in what feels like another key historic moment in our collective culture.
I agree with what Craig intimated in his comment above, that you do some of your best work reflecting this kind of “people’s movement”, starting back in the 60s where we all met.
