Folsom Street Fair

September 28, 2009 – 9:53 am

I’m so far behind in my work. Ugh. I have photos from several projects to process, but I thought I’d get these up from yesterday’s annual display of fun and sex and much “deviant” behavior. I’m not particularly interested in the S&M, bondage, and some other displays of sex that I don’t quite get. Lots of public nudity-who couldn’t love that? (don’t answer that one). Here are just a few photographs from the event. More to come, but I want to catch up on everything else first.

Finishing at The Glenn

September 7, 2009 – 2:02 pm

It was a good run. My show opened at The Glenn in El Cerrito with a resounding opening, lots of folks, lots of great energy, and even a few sales. My work was well received and I was extremely gratified by all the nice things that I heard over the last couple of months while the show was up. Kathleen Glenn is a really fine person to work with and a huge supporter of the arts in El Cerrito. We took it down on Friday and I want to thank everyone who came to see my work and for all the nice things that people had to say. Thank you.

I’ve been very busy all Summer. I took a lot of photos since my last post. One of the many events that I went to was the San Francisco Theater Festival, an annual event that takes place at the Yerba Buena Center for one Sunday afternoon in July.

Please don’t forget. Tomorrow night (Friday, July 10), is the opening reception, from 7-9,  for my show of photographs: Visualizing Richmond in El Cerrito. The show is now up at the Glenn Framing and Art Gallery, 7027 Stockton Ave, El Cerrito. If you’re in the neighborhood, come on by. Map

The reception is part of the Stockton Stroll, a bi-monthly event of openings and art exhibits. I will be showing more than 40 new works, including photographs, and mandalas created from my photographs. The entire show consists of images created in Richmond. There is a series of photographs from the Miraflores Redevelopment Project (the Sakai and Oishi Nurseries), a unique fence on Ohio Street, a variety of portraits and street scenes, and composite mandalas from original photographs. The show will continue through August 29.

Pride Parade and Show annoucement

July 2, 2009 – 10:46 pm

Last Sunday I shot photos at the Pride Parade in San Francisco. As usual, I took a lot of photos and had a great time. People were in a good mood and the crowd was very upbeat. I’ve posted some of my best shots here and many more on my Flickr page.

There will be an opening reception on Friday, July 10, from 7-9. I’ll be showing 40 new photographs and mandalas, some of which have been posted here, but none have been shown as hard copies before this show.
