Carnaval San Francisco 2013

This year Carnaval San Francisco, the 34th annual, was run entirely by volunteers and they did a slam bang job. It’s a great event that takes place the last weekend in May. The day is a lot of fun, people are happy, celebrating the spirit of Carnaval. I get there early in the morning so that I can take pictures at the staging area, and stay at least until the last parade contingent passes me by. Then, if I have the energy, I go on to the Festival.
