turtle dreaming July 19, 2006
Northern Territory, Australia

Dream sites blanket the Australian landscape. Aborigines believe their ancestors sang the world into existence. When they tired of their work, they sank back into the earth - these are the dream sites. Point at any natural landmark and a native of the area will be able to tell you which dream site it is - turtle, brolga, crocodile, melaleuca, you name it, it has a dream site.
